The aim of the study was to present the difficulties in diagnostics and management of zygomatico-maxillo-orbital fractures that may be faced by the maxillo-facial surgeon in his practice. On the basis of four clinical cases, the causes and results of injuries to the upper facial skull were analyzed as well as the problems before and during the treatment. The authors stressed the dependence of the management autcones on the accuracy of the diagnosis and onset of treatment. Within the conclusions they enumerated the most significant clinical symptoms, which should facilitate to diagnose a zygomatico-maxillo-orbital fracture, with special emphasis placed upon the necessity of team approach towards the post- traumatic patients, possibly without delay.
