Abstract

Background:Steatohepatitis is a histopathological state of the liver in which we observe excessive accumulation of fat in hepatocytes. It is metabolic disorder caused by various toxic factors. Nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) is a reason of chronic liver diseases in adults. NASH in children is not known yet.Case Report:Author presents diagnostic difficulties in finding reason of high aminotransferase values in patient with obesity in whom nonalcoholic hepatitis according to steatohepatitis was diagnosed, he shows also terapeutical possibilities of this disease. Conclusions:Overweight and obesity problem in children needs early prophylactics and health education of children and their parents. NASH very often causes increase of aminotransferase values and should be taken into consideration in diagnostic procedures especially in children with overweight and obesity. Frequency of NASH in these children make conditions to necessary, temporary controls of biochemical parameters of liver function in this group of patients. Diagnosis of NASH is treated sa dangerous because of the possibility of liver cirrhosis, it is also obligatory to cure it and systematic medical control.
