Background: Hemangiomas are benign vascular tumors that are rarely found in the ovary. They are fewer than fifty cases in the literature.
Case Report: In this case a woman with shock and abdominal distension and abdominal apoplexy is presented. She underwent laparatomy, total abdominal hysterectomy, bilateral salpingooophorectomy, and histology confirmed ovarian cavernous hemangioma.
Conclusions: Although ovarian hemangioma is a rare disease, it should be considered for differential diagnosis of abdominal apoplexy and acute abdominal pain.
