Associated ill-defined opacities in the right lung base consistent with pulmonary contusions are seen. There is also abundant subcutaneous emphysema along the lateral chest wall of the right hemithorax, with underlying multiple rib fractures. No definite evidence of intercostal lung herniation is apparent.
