Figure 2. (A–G) CRP levels during hospital stay. In each patient, CRP levels (reference range 0.00–5.00 mg/L) were highly elevated on admission. In patients 1, 3, and 7, they slightly decreased until the next day, most likely due to immediate prednisolone treatment. With each CRP apheresis session via peripheral (blue columns) or central venous access/Shaldon catheter (red columns), however, CRP levels markedly decreased in each patient and normalized during the hospital stay. Notably, CRP apheresis was continued during bacterial superinfection. Gray shadows: antibiotic treatment.
