Figure 3. Due to the presence of accompanying disseminated intravascular coagulation, we had difficulty in achieving hemostasis. The total amount of blood transfused reached 26 units of red blood cells (RBCs), 30 units of platelet concentrate, and 8 units of fresh-frozen plasma. High FDP and D-dimer levels persisted even after the inflammation had subsided and the platelet levels had recovered; however, these values had improved by hospital day 62. CTRX – ceftriaxone; CLDM – clindamycin; VCM – vancomycin; CTM – cefotiam; CEZ – cefazolin; HSE – hypertonic saline epinephrine solution; IVR – interventional radiology; OTSC – over-the-scope clip; PEG – percutaneous endoscopic gastroscopy; RBCs – red blood cells; FDP – fibrin degradation product; CRP – C-reactive protein.
