Figure 4. Damage to the inferior vena cava (IVC) observed intraoperatively. An approximately 1-cm-long injury to the IVC is observed caudal to the vein inflow. The IVC was side-clamped using vascular clamps and then sutured. No damage to the rear wall of the IVC is observed.
