Figure 2. Brain images on magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). An isointensity mass (arrow) was shown in the right ventricular trigone on MRI when the patient was 2 days old (A–C). The mass appeared isointense or hypointense on T1-weighted images, and isointense to hyperintense on T2-weighted and FLAIR-weighted images. The mass (arrow) remained unchanged when she was 2 weeks old (D–F). The mass (arrow) was greatly enlarged with peripheral edema and hydrocephalus when she was 3 months old. Intense contrast enhancement was observed on contrast-enhanced T1-weighted images (G) with foci of hyposignal (vessels), whereas isointensity on T2-weighted images (H), and predominantly hyperintense on contrast-enhanced FLAIR-weighted images (I). FLAIR – Fluid-Attenuated Inversion Recovery.
