The histology shows the cytological appearances of the cells of the intraductal tumor, which show blue cytoplasm and nuclei with prominent nucleoli. The tumor cell has a papillary formation but without invasion into the cyst wall. Small foci of microcalcification are seen (blue). There are few mitoses and no necrosis. The appearances are consistent with a papillary thyroid carcinoma. Hematoxylin and eosin; magnification ×60.
