Scalp of a 12-year-old boy after shaving, showing significant scaling and erosions spread diffusely over the scalp. Remaining visible live parasites (Pediculus humanus capitis) and viable nits were present, consistent with a severe head lice infestation. The lesions and excoriations were widespread across the scalp and neck, likely resulting from persistent scratching due to pruritus associated with the infestation.
