Figure 4 Gross appearance of the femoral head resected during total hip arthroplastyThe femoral head demonstrates advanced degenerative changes, including an irregular articular surface, with cartilage fibrillation and focal cartilage detachment with exposure of the subchondral bone. These findings support severe osteoarthritic degeneration, consistent with the preoperative imaging findings.
