Figure 4 Analgesic effects of repeated rectus sheath blocks. From the first to the fifth injections, pain relief was observed immediately after the procedure but was temporary. Pain recurred to baseline levels as the local anesthetic effect wore off. Between the sixth and ninth injections, pain relief was maintained for at least 24 hours after the blocks.
