0A latent or sub-clinical condition is not evident despite impaired lymph transport
1Early accumulation of fluid with relatively high protein content subsides with extremity elevation. Pitting may occur
2Extremity elevation alone rarely reduces tissue swelling, pitting is manifested, and extremities may or may not pit as excess fat and fibrosis supervenes
3Lymphostatic elephantiasis where pitting can be absent, trophic skin changes including acanthosis, further deposition of fat and fibrosis and warty overgrowths have developed
