Decompression sickness:  The wide range of symptoms due to gas bubbles, which are formed by too rapid pressure release to pass out of the body
Arterial gas embolism:  The symptoms due to an obstruction of blood flow caused by gas bubbles (emboli) entering the arterial circulation
* Symptoms of Type I and Type II decompression sickness may be present at the same time.
