Pulmonary resection in a metastatic breast cancer patient with fourteen years survival: a case report

Abstract
Background: Once breast cancer becomes wide spread, the disease is usually incurable. Pulmonary metastasis is usually found in the setting of widely disseminated disease. Solitary pulmonary metastasis can be suitable for surgical intervention.Case Report: A breast cancer patient ith pulmonary metastasis was presented. After the resection of pulmonary nodule, the patient is known free of disease for eight years with 14 years overall survival.Conclusions: Surgery can be a curative treatment modality in breast cancer patients with solitary pulmonary metastasis.
