Abstract
Background: The commonest reasons of heart failure due to the circulatory system pathology in children and their echocardiographic presentation are discussed in the paper. Heart failure predominates
in the youngest age group – in the neonates and infants. The symptoms and sings are nonspecific and the echopcardiographic examination is essential for the diagnosis.Echocardiography with the doppler blood flow allows for the determination of the mechanism
triggering the heart failure – be it volume overload, systolic failure or diastolic ventricular dysfunction.
