Abstract
Background: One of the complications during the clinical course of patients with leukemia is cutaneous eruptions. Skin infiltration of leukemic cells as a clinical problem in CML is very rare. Skin
lesions associated with CML are more likely to have leukemia cutis as compared to other leukemia.Case Report: We present a case of CML in chronic phase diagnosed by hematological and cytogenetic findings. Erythematous nodular lesions were noticed a month after diagnosis was made. Skin lesions showed cells of myeloid series in various maturation stages. Patient is on follow up since two years. Conclusions: Patients with leukemia cutis in CML have aggressive course. Median survival of 9.4 months has been recorded. Our patient is on follow up for more than two years. Extra medullary involvement of skin does not mean an aggressive course of the disease and unnecessary change in the treatment protocol can be avoided.
