A Case for mandatory extraperitoneal cesarean section

Abstract
Background: A 20 year-old primigravid woman presented at 35 weeks gestation with delayed acute peritonitis due to perforation of appendix.Case Report: An extraperitoneal cesarean sectio was performed due to fetal distress. After the closure of the uterine incision, peritoneal space was opened. An appendectomy and mesh abdominoplasty were performed. Stage abdominal repair was performed daily for four days.Conclusions: We state that in a case of acute peritonitis for strict obstetric reasons an extraperitoneal approach is mandatory.
