Abstract
Case Report: A case of 55-year old man with severely injured anterior and posterior eye segment has been presented. On admittance visual acuity was hand movement and the eyeball was in hypotonia. In objective examination there were found subconjunctival haemorrhage and conjunctiva wound which ran parallelly to the limbus from 12 to 5. The cornea was not damaged. The anterior chamber was entirely filled with blood. Distal segments of the eye were inaccessiblefor examination. On the day of discharging from hospital, after a few surgical procedures his visual acuity was 0,5 with correction and intraocular pressure was on the level of 17 mm Hg.Conclusions: 1.The discussed case of severely injured anterior and posterior segment of an eye points to the necessity of undertaking multiple-stage surgical procedures.2.Pars plana vitrectomy with silicone oil injection is a method of choice in surgical treatment of injured posterior segment of an eye.3.Implantation of iris diaphragm allows to apply silicone oil in existing iris loss.
