Mediastinoscopic diagnosis of isolated mediastinal lymph node tuberculosis

Abstract
Background: Parenchyma tuberculosis involves mediastinal lymph nodes. Less than mediastinal lymph node tuberculosis occurs isolated form.Case Report: We present a case of 35-year old woman with isolated mediastinal lymph node tuberculosis who diagnosed and treated by cervical mediastinoscopy.Conclusions: Mediastinoscopy provides not only diagnostic information but also can be safely used in the treatment of mediastinal lymph node tuberculosis which caused caseation necrosis. Drainage of necrotic material may help medical treatment of lymph node tuberculosis.
