Abstract
Background: Lupus lymphadenopathy is an uncommonly encountered pathology and needs to be differentiated from other necrotising lymphadenitis like tuberculosis and Kikuchi Fujimoto Disease. Case Report: A 19-year-old girl presented with fever and cervical lymphadenopathy. Lymph node biopsy, done for suspected tuberculosis, showed features of necrotising lymphadenitis with sparse neutrophils. Haematoxylin bodies were present in the necrotic foci. Conclusions: A diagnosis of lupus lymphadenitis was made and serological studies confirmed Systemic Lupus Erythematosus.
Keywords: Lupus lymphadenopathy, systemic lupus erythematosus, Haematoxylin bodies, Kikuchi Fujimoto Diseases
