Abstract
Background: Acute appendicitis is the most common surgical emergency. Sometimes the course of disease
is unspecific and then the diagnosis can be difficult.
Case Report: A case report of a 7-year-old girl with appendico-vesical fistula is presented. The lesion manifested as a polipoid urinary bladder tumor that was erroneously recognized as vesical papilloma. The
treatment consisted with appendectomy and minimal partial resection of the bladder. The case is rare in presentation.
Conclusions: When the appendicitis involves urinary tract diagnosis can be very problematic.
Keywords: Appendico-vesical fistula, urothelial papilloma, polypoid cystitis, acute appendicitis
