Abstract
Background: Cardiac myxomas localized in the left atrium are the commonest of the rare primary heart
tumors. The case of simultaneous coronary artery bypass grafting with resection of the left atrial
myxoma is rarely reported.
Case Report: In this report, we present a case of left atrial myxoma with concomitant coronary artery disease treated surgically which was detected by careful routine tests with no constitutional signs and
symptoms of myxoma.
Conclusion: This rare association may lead secondary operations later after coronary bypass. Because of this risk, all patients waiting for coronary artery bypass should carefully be investigated for atrial
masses especially in high risk age groups.
