Abstract
Background: Standard positioning of defibrillation leads in right ventricular apex does not always allow
acceptable sensing, pacing and defibrillation paramaters to be achieved.
Case Report: We report a case of successful passive fixation defibrillation lead implantation in right ventricular outflow tract with excellent performance at six months follow-up.
Conclusions: Right ventricular outflow tract may be a reasonable alternative site for positioning defibrillation leads even if active fixation leads are not available at the moment of implantation.
Keywords: implantable cardioverter-defibrillator, passive fixation defibrillation lead, right ventricular outflow tract
