Severe hemolytic anemia as the first manifestation of G6PD deficiency in a child with acute hepatitis A infection

Abstract
Background: In patient with G6PD deficiency and viral hepatitis A Infection the clinical picture may resemble fulminant Hepatitis.
Case Report: A case of G6PD deficiency with severe hemolytic anemia due to HAV infection is reported here.
Conclusions: G6PD deficiency must be considered in cases with acute Hepatitis, hemolytic anemia and leukoerythroblastosis.
