A rare case of Wegener’s Granulomatosis localized in genitals

Abstract
Background: Wegener’s Grannulomatosis is a multiorgan disease. It includes angiitis, focal necrosis and specific granuloma in tissues and organs involved. The clinical manifestation mainly comprises symptoms from respiratory
tract and kidneys. Wegener’s Granulomatosis is rarely localized in genitals.
Case report: The case reports a fifty one-year-old woman with multiorgan localization Wegener’s Granulomatosis, including genitals. The patient was hospitalized because of bleeding from reproductive organs and other
complaints lasting for a year. Histopathological examination of numerous sections of uterine cervix and mucous nasal membrane allowed diagnosis.
Conclusions: In case of erosive and ulcerative lesions in genitals the diagnosis of Wegener’s Granulomatosis should be taken into consideration and numerous deep sections should be taken for histopathological examinations.
