Abstract
Background: Pelvic lipoma is an extremely rare problem in gynecological surgery. We described the case of a large pelvic lipoma.
Case report: A solid mass in the right adnexa was found during transvaginal ultrasound examination of a 51-year-old woman. Clinical examination did not confirm it. Computed tomography was performed. It revealed a large pelvic mass, and the diagnosis of Lipoma was established. The mass was removed by laparoscopy. Pathomorphological examination confirmed CT diagnosis of Lipoma.
Conclusions: The authors remark that CT is very helpful in diagnosis and assessing the nature of the mass, whereas laparoscopic management is a good alternative for laparotomy.
