Maria Mazurkiewicz-Bełdzińska , Barbara MańkowskaCase Rep Clin Pract Rev 2002; 3(2):113-115 :: ID: 474858
Abstract
Background: Esthesioneuroblastoma is a rare neuroectodermal tumor mainly localized in the upper nasal cavity. The cases with intracranial proliferation are extremely rare.
Case report: An unusual case of 11-year old boy with esthesioneuroblastoma localized in right frontal lobe and manifested with epileptic seizures is presented.
Conclusions: The presented case shows the need of extending the neurological diagnostic when intractable partial or secondarily generalized epileptic seizures or persistent focal electroencephalographical abnormalities are present.
Keywords: esthesioneuroblastoma, epileptic seizures, children
