Abstract
Primary tumors of the diaphragm are rare. More frequently the diaphragm is involved by hyperplastic lesions originating from the parietal pleura or abdominal organs, e.g. the liver. The authors present a case of leiomyoma diaphragmae detected accidentally on ultrasonography of the abdominal cavity. A diagnostic algorithm which may be applicable in case of suspected tumor of the diaphragm is proposed.
