Abstract
Background:31 oesophagus were resected in 1997 in the Department of the Alimentary Tract Surgery. Resection is performed in order to form a new, substitute oesophagus out of the stomach, the large intestine or the small intestine.Case Report:The authors describe two cases of ulceration in the oesophagus substitute formed from the large curvature of the stomach. Each operation of that type is burdened with complications depending on the sort of substitute used. In the first case they discussed the formation of two metastatic ulcerations in the substitute and the second case is a chronic, resistant to the conservative therapy peptic ulcer. Conclusions:The ulcerations of the oesophagus substitute formed from the stomach are rare complications. It is considered that the ulcerations do not depend on the initial cause of illness neither on the kind of conducted surgical procedure. Upon the ineffectiveness of conservative treatment, surgical treatment is recommended.
