Background: Popliteal artery aneurysms are quite common. They may lead to loss of extremity and high mortality despite sophisticated treatment.
Case Report: A giant popliteal artery aneurysm was detected in an 84 year-old-male patient with severe co-morbid diseases. He was treated by aneurysmectomy and saphenous vein graft interposition under spinal anesthesia. He remained asymptomatic during 6 months of follow-up after surgery.
Conclusions: The satisfactory early and late period results can be achieved with a better preoperative and surgical management in giant popliteal artery aneurysm patient who are elderly and have co-morbid diseases.
