Abstract
Abstract
Background: The TVT-O (trans obturator tape) for SUI (stress urinary incontinence) remains as the most effective form of surgical treatment of the condition to date. Utilization of synthetic material entails a number of complications, including erosion and development of fistulas.
Case Report: The purpose of the study was to present a fifty-five-year-old woman who underwent TVT-O procedure followed by formation of a thigh-vaginal fistula.
Conclusions: The identification of an uncommon type of a fistula like thigh-vaginal fistula may remain undiagnosed for several months. Indication for a treatment of the SUI with the use of synthetic tapes ought to be made carefully, after due consideration of distant complications
Keywords: Vaginal Fistula - complications, TVT-O, stress urinary incontinence
